Getting Started

What to Expect

Initial Inquiry/Intake Phone Call

When you contact Empower Pediatric Therapy, you’ll speak with a patient care coordinator who will listen to your concerns about your child, explain the programs that may best support them, and guide you through the insurance process. We’ll also help schedule the right evaluations so your child can begin their therapy journey.

If you prefer, you can start by emailing our team at [email protected]

Evaluation

Your child’s evaluations are scheduled based on the intake call. If multiple services are needed, each specialist will complete their own assessment. These evaluations help us understand your child’s challenges and begin creating a personalized care plan.

Reports are finalized within two weeks and shared in our patient portal. Therapy usually starts right away, but if you’d like a detailed review of the report, we can schedule a meeting (note that these meetings are billed separately).

Scheduling Sessions

After your child’s evaluations, if therapy is recommended, our team will partner with you to set up sessions that work best for your family’s routine. Our patient care coordinators are dedicated to helping you find appointment times that are both convenient and consistent, making it easier to keep your child’s care on track.

Your Child’s Therapy Experience

Most sessions are one-on-one with a single therapist, giving your child focused support. When helpful, your child may also join co-treatment sessions with two therapists (like an SLP and OT) or small group sessions with other children, based on their needs and availability. Insurance coverage for co-treatment or group sessions may vary.

Sessions usually last 30 or 45 minutes and include a brief parent meeting at the end. Parents are always welcome to join, observe, or participate, especially for new or younger children, and will receive guidance to help your child practice and grow at home.
