FEEDING THERAPY
Does your child:
- Have poor weight gain or weight loss?
- Frequently choke, gag, or cough during meals?
- Have ongoing vomiting?
- Avoid certain textures (wet, crunchy, etc.) or food groups (meat, vegetables, fruits, starches)?
- Eat fewer than 20 foods consistently, with no new foods replacing those lost?
Has your child had:
- More than one incident of nasal reflux (spitting up through the nose)?
- A traumatic choking episode leading to avoidance of certain foods?
- History of eating and breathing coordination problems or ongoing respiratory issues?
Was your child unable to:
- Transition to baby food purees by 10 months?
- Accept table foods by 12 months?
- Move from breast/bottle to a cup by 16 months?
- Wean off baby foods by 16 months?
Have you (as a parent or caregiver)
- Reported your child as “picky” at two or more well-child visits?
- Noted that your infant cries or arches at most meals?
- Felt mealtimes are a battle or that feeding is always a struggle?
- Found your child difficult for anyone to feed?
- Had a history of an eating disorder while also having a child not meeting weight gain goals?
(Note: Parents are not seen as causing the feeding issue, but may need extra support during meals.)
